Adri and Josef said their eternal vows to each other in the summer of 2020, and although the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic caused them many nerve-wracking moments, the end result was worth every bit of effort! The decorations they envisioned and created themselves, the unparalleled panorama of Badacsony, the carefree guests, and, of course, the breathtakingly beautiful wedding photographs by Kristoban Photography came together to create perfect moments…
EC: When did your wedding take place?
Adrienn: Our wedding was held on June 13, 2020, at the Óbester Guesthouse.
EC: Why did you choose Badacsony as the venue for your wedding?
Adrienn: Lake Balaton is an absolute love for both of us, especially the northern part. We think the most beautiful area is Badacsony, where you can enjoy a full panoramic view of the lake from almost anywhere.
EC: How did you experience the preparation period? Were there uncertainties due to the pandemic?
Adrienn: The preparations actually brought us closer together, as we planned and crafted every little detail ourselves. For example, we made the happiness gate and the thank-you gifts (candles in small jars), but what I’m particularly proud of is the candy table and the table decorations because we realized every tiny detail ourselves.
Unfortunately, about a month before our wedding, it was announced that weddings could not be held, and we fell into complete uncertainty. Fortunately, the venue and the service providers encouraged us to remain hopeful, so we decided to wait it out, and it was the right decision, as just two weeks before our wedding, the restrictions were eased. Those few weeks were truly nerve-wracking, but perhaps it heightened our happiness even more on the big day.
EC: Did you think about a rustic style from the beginning? What was the most important aspect for you when organizing your Lake Balaton dream wedding?
Adrienn: The rustic theme was a given, as Badacsony resembles a Tuscan landscape, and that’s exactly what gives it its charm and romance. From the very first moment, we wanted a small wedding with just close family and friends. It was very important for us to accommodate all of our invited guests and to have the ceremony, dinner, and reception at the same location.
EC: How did your big day go? Were there any mishaps?
Adrienn: I don’t know if it’s possible to say this, but our day was perfectly successful, truly without any exaggeration—I can’t recall a single mishap. We were worried about the weather, as the entire wedding was outdoors (ceremony, dinner, and the party afterward), and we really didn’t want summer to break in. Incredibly, our wedding day turned out to be the first warm day of summer last year. We set off in the rain on Friday and returned home to a storm on Sunday, but the time we spent there was wonderful.
We arrived on Friday because we scheduled our creative photoshoot during the Badacsony sunset. It went incredibly well, and I think you can see that in the photos; we still look back on it with so much happiness, largely thanks to Krisztián, our photographer. On Saturday morning, we set up the venue and prepared the decorations. Guests started arriving around 2 PM to 3 PM, and everyone had enough time to get ready in their own rooms. The ceremony began at 5 PM, followed by dinner at 7 PM, and then the party started, lasting until dawn. Perhaps that’s what made it perfect; even though it was a small wedding, everything happened just as it should in a storybook.
EC: Kristoban Photography took the photos of your wedding. How did you choose Krisztián?
Adrienn: We specifically looked for a photographer who lives and works in the area, which is how I found Krisztián. After seeing his reference photos, it was clear that we wanted to work with him, and our personal meeting only reinforced that decision. I admire how, behind his modesty, he brings such dedication and professionalism to his work. I can wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone because he is not just a photographer; he is so much more. He provided us with a wealth of useful advice that helped us make the wedding even better for ourselves and our guests.
EC: As an experienced bride, what advice would you give to those who are just starting to plan their wedding?
Adrienn: Personally, I would recommend that no matter how many guests you plan to invite, everyone should experience the wedding preparations and the big day at least once in their life. It may feel very stressful and long during the planning, but looking back, it’s worth every moment! What I think is most important is to focus solely on what the couple envisions; that’s what needs to be realized, and everything will be perfect! Unfortunately, you can’t please everyone, and there will always be those who may not like something because we’re not all the same. That’s exactly why it should happen the way we want it to, and we shouldn’t compromise on that!
Lake Balaton Dream Wedding: Adri and Josef Big Day Through the Lens of Kristoban Photography
EC: What was your focus when capturing Adrienn and Josef wedding? What style of photos were created?
Krisztián: I quickly found a friendly connection with Adrienn and Josef, so right from our first meeting, we were able to prepare for their big day in a great atmosphere. Both of them actively participated in organizing the wedding photography and welcomed my advice and ideas regarding locations and wedding practices. Their photography package included an all-day wedding shoot, from the preparations to the bride and groom’s dance, along with a separate creative photo session.
For the photos, I focused on capturing the genuine special and passionate moments, beautifully composed with the stunning surroundings. It’s important to me that my clients feel comfortable and free from any awkwardness in front of my camera during intimate moments, which was certainly the case with Adrienn and Josef.
Thanks to the friendly atmosphere, they were both open and relaxed, allowing for genuine, loving, and bohemian moments to be captured during the creative shoot. We prepared many exciting ideas, but I also captured plenty of spontaneous movements, resulting in beautiful panoramic shots of Balaton and close-up passionate portraits. The family members and friends quickly embraced me at the wedding, allowing me to be part of the exciting and intimate events throughout the day.
EC: How did you experience that day? What experiences did you gain?
Krisztián: Every wedding holds special memories for me, and I am grateful that couples choose me to capture their moments. However, from the 2020 season, one of my fondest weddings was that of Adrienn and Josef. The friendly atmosphere, the beautiful locations around Balaton, the exciting company, and the wonderful, intimate, and passionate moments were all incredibly captivating from the perspective of a wedding photographer.
I love it when there’s a lot happening, and genuine, joyful people are celebrating together, as they did at this wedding. This allows me to take plenty of photos, resulting in beautiful candid shots and portraits.
Not to mention, the reception was an amazing party under the stars, and I was able to celebrate alongside the guests during the photography, which led to many fun and sometimes crazy party photos. The exciting and wonderful wedding resulted in a very beautiful album, which I handed over to Adrienn and Josef with great satisfaction and joy.
EC: Why should couples choose you?

I joyfully photograph both small, intimate celebrations with families and large weddings envisioned by the couple.
